January Rogers: Ego of a Nation

Ego of a Nation is a video poem produced on the Six Nations Reserve in response to centuries of court injustices towards Indigenous peoples; in particular the aquittal of 22 year old Colten Boushie’s murderer in 2017. The original poem is part of the Ego of a Nation poetry collection of the same name published on the Ojistoh Publishing label in 2020. Ego of a Nation video poem has been screened at several film festivals in Berlin Germany, the Yukon, Toronto, Los Angeles, and won BEST MUSIC VIDEO 2020 at the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco.
